Almost painless wax? No way. For decades, women have been torturing themselves to be hair free by waxing it all off. Beauty is pain right? Wrong (haha) or at least it shouldn’t have to be! That’s why I want to share with you my latest beauty find, but first let me rewind and take you on my journey to how I first found the holygrail of wax.
It took me a long time to find the perfect wax. I’ve tried hard wax, soft wax, wax kits, and even bought myself the Gigi Wax Warmer ($22.99) (which is amazing and used at some salons). One day as I decided to yelp a new waxing place to fix my ever bushy eyebrows, I stumbled upon….drumroll please… BLISS! Yes I found pure happiness, but actually, I mean I found the heavenly Bliss Spa in Boston. I read Yelp reviews upon reviews on how they had this magic wax that was the MOST painless (although not painfree) wax I’ve ever heard of. So of course, I had to see for myself. My experience at the salon was superb. As a customer, you are taken back into a spa like room and given a lollipop while you relax and they begin the process. I was in awe. Super cush and lush experience. The smell of the chamomile and rose effervesced from the pretty blue wax and when it was pulled off, my eyes did not feel raw and watery. My life was forever changed.
So you might be thinking okay, why am I rambling about this in-salon waxing experience? Well, although I absolutely loved my experience at Bliss, paying $35 for an eyebrow wax (without gratuity) every time really adds up. That’s when I took to google to see if Bliss sold their wax that I could heat in my Gigi Warmer at home. Unfortunately, no dice. What I did find, however, was the Bliss Poetic Waxing Microwaveable Kit ($48). It is truly the NEXT best thing to the salon experience.
– The wax is identical to their formula at Bliss Spa
– Almost pain free
– Comes in a nice hand held cup for easy microwaving
– Love the super skin cleanser (cleans the waxing area prior to)
– Multiple size spatulas (reusable: plastic)
– Great for sensitive skin: calming oils implemented in wax
– Cannot be used in a heat warmer
– Must constantly reheat
TIP: **On the packaging it advises not to heat it on a stove top, however, when you microwave wax often times you must reheat if your not quick enough. But I would NEVER want to rush waxing, haha, that could result in some wacky looking brows. I’ve gone against this advisement and heat the cup on the stove top in a pot full of water on low-medium heat, and let me tell you, it works wonderfully! So of course, be careful but this is actually possible.
Bliss’s wax is truly a diamond in the rough, and if you are an avid at home waxer, I suggest trying it. The 5.3oz cup has a lot of wax to last for a while, good bang for your buck! Comment below, subscribe and like this post for more!
