Recently, I’ve been so intrigued by ads for e.l.f Eyebrow Kit ($3). Normally, I use Anastasia’s Brow Powder Duo ($23) to fill in and make my brows look thick and defined. On my last stop at CVS, I found the e.l.f eyebrow kit (color: medium) and purchased it in excitement. While I love Anastasia’s Brow Powder Duo, what enticed me about the e.l.f kit was that it has a powder AND a pigmented wax. Here’s what I thought and learned about the product from my brow defining experience :). It comes in a small container with a mirror and a brush that has 2 ends – one for the wax, the other end to blend.
– Pigmented wax: great for defining the shape of your brow
– Powder: perfect for blending and filling in sparse areas
– Compact & handy
– $ CHEAP!
– Angled brush: gives a nice fine line
– Blending brush: too thick, not enough control
Overall: I love this eyebrow palette. The concept of having a wax and a powder is really a perfect combination to meet all your eyebrow filler needs. The wax had a very pigmented and smooth gel quality to it that really created a beautiful line to enhance the shape of my brow while still blended nicely. What I didn’t like was the blending portion of the brush, I ended up using my Anastasia brush because I wanted more precision and control and I felt it definitely was not up to par. The blending brush was thicker than my eyebrow and was more or less ineffective for me.
