Contour and Define

In my latest make up purchase, I picked up the Smashbox Step-by-Step Contour Stick Trio and I absolutely love them!  They are the perfect at home or on-the-go product and

are very easy to use – great for the contouring beginner.  Smashbox even includes a diagram of instructions of how to contour based on your face shape.  I’ve tried quite a few contouring powders, but I really love the way these smooth and creamy contour sticks blend together easily with the use of a brush or a beauty blender (<– my favorite).  This past month, we had to take our yearbook photos for my dental school graduation, so I used these to just add some definition to my jawline, cheekbones, and nose.  It blends well with my CC cream and turns out great in photos (see below).  What I love about the contour sticks is that you can really control how defined or subtle you want your contouring to be, and for a more daytime natural look you could just use the highlighter to give you a dewy glow. One suggestion I’d give to a first time user is to draw on one area and blend right away, sometimes you’ll find that if you draw on all the areas first than blend after, you Screen Shot 2016-04-21 at 6.35.40 PMmight see stubborn line that just won’t go away. Still – I’m really obsessed with these so I suggest trying them if you haven’t yet!

Using: Smashbox Contour Sticks Trio

– smooth creamy consistency
– blendability
– highly pigmented

– not sold with a brush/blender

Ooo can’t wait to try this one out!! I’ve been using the powder contour kit from Smashbox and notice that it doesn’t really give me that defined chiseled look.
